Melissa is a lifetime resident of the Capital District and received her B.A. in Sociology/Criminology with a minor in Theater and Speech. After managing two local law firms in the area, she began a career in real estate in 2004 with MIRANDA REAL ESTATE GROUP, Inc. Having that legal background and legal connections locally, gave her a strong foundation in real estate.
She obtained her ASSOCIATE BROKER license, as well as designations as an ACCREDITED BUYER REPRESENATIVE (ABR), SHORT SALE & FORECLOSURE RESOURCE (SFR) and CERTIFIED NEGOTIATION EXPERT (CNE). She is also a LISTING SPECIALIST.
She was nominated and won the 2017 RALPH P. DUPONT AWARD, which recognized one realtor for service and activity to the Greater Capital Association of Realtors (GCAR), the real estate industry and her volunteer work within the community.
Melissa has a passion for helping others and volunteers her time raising money and awareness for various charity organizations. She was the 2018 -2019 Chair of the COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE at GCAR and continues to be on the committee each year. In addition, she is on the BOARD OF WEST ALBANY STRONG. Melissa has supported and continues to volunteer for the MIRANDA REAL ESTATE’S ANNUAL CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT, raising money for both THE CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL AT ALBANY MEDICAL CENTER & the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF THE CAPITAL REGION. She has continued to volunteer, raise money and raise awareness for the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION, AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY and THE SPECIAL OLYMPICS.
Melissa is dedicated to provide excellent service for her sellers and purchasers by listening, paying close attention to detail, educating them and keeping in constant communication with them throughout the entire buying and selling process.
